Syracuse City Ballet’s The Nutcracker

2025-2026 Season

Please Note: Pre-registration is required. Please make sure you are registering for the correct city (Syracuse, Oswego, or Cornwall), as we are holding auditions in multiple locations this year.

Syracuse Audition Information:

When: 

Friday, August 15th

Time: 4pm-7:30pm

Doors open at 3:30pm

Where: 

Infinity Dance Academy

80 Smokey Hollow Rd, Baldwinsville, NY 13027

Who: 

• Dancers ages 7 years and up

• Pointe preferred for ages 13+, but not required

What:

Auditions will take place in groups according to age. Please review the following schedule to determine which session your dancer should attend. Dancers should plan to be present for the entirety of their age session.

Ages 13+: 4:00-5:30PM

Pointe: 5:30-6:00PM

Ages 7-9: 5:30-6:30PM

Ages 10-12: 6:30-7:30PM

Preferred attire for girls will be a black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers, and hair in a bun or otherwise neatly and securely pinned up off of the face and neck. Boys’ preferred attire is a white short-sleeved shirt, with black tights, shorts, or pants, and white socks and ballet slippers. Hair should also be neat and pulled away from the face.

There is no audition fee. There will be a $100 casting fee payable at the first rehearsal, with a sibling discount of 50% off when more than one child from the same family is cast in the same show.

In addition to The Nutcracker, dancers ages 10 and up are invited to be considered for roles in our Fall production of Dracula! On the audition registration form (linked below), you'll have the option to indicate if your dancer would like to be considered for both productions. All rehearsal and performance info for Dracula is listed at the top of the form.

Requirements:

Must be able to attend weekly rehearsals, tech rehearsals, and performances.

Rehearsals will be held on weekends according to the schedule that will be provided upon casting. Please note: this schedule is subject to change based on the needs of the production. All changes will be communicated in advance by the Nutcracker Coordinator.

*Tech Week Rehearsals and Performances will be held at The Oncenter Civic Center, Crouse-Hinds Theatre (411 Montgomery St, Syracuse, NY 13202)
